Toshiba Medical has released a new Vantage Titan / Zen Edition 1.5T MRI Scanner

In June 2017 in California, Toshiba presented its new product — Vantage Titan / Zen Edition 1.5T MRI scanner, which is designed for increased productivity and enhanced patient’s comfort.

New Vantage Titan/Zen Edition 1.5T

Vantage Titan / Zen Edition 1.5T MRI superconducting system is characterized by a 71 cm wide bore aperture and an ultra-short 1.4 m magnet with a large clinical field of view (FOV) of 51 cm. The scanner is also equipped with special integrated coils, which provide the highest possible image resolution and patient comfort during examination.

Quiet and comfortable for the patient

Reduces noise levels up to 99%

Everybody knows that during conventional MRI examinations patients feel rather uncomfortable because of noise produced by the scanner, therefore this can have a negative effect on the results. Taking into consideration patient comfort, Toshiba made the new scanner both powerful and comfortable. First of all, let’s consider the technology, expanding the name of the MRI device — Vantage Titan / Zen Edition, namely Pianissimo Zen. It reduces noise levels up to 99% and its absolute value is no more than 58 dB. MR Theater option provides even greater comfort. Thanks to visual images, for example of nature, a patient can come down, focus on them and move less. Consequently, physicians are able to perform highly effective visualization.

Intelligent technology: Easy Tech-Fast

Intelligent technology Easy Tech-Fast — SUREVOI ™ Cardiac и CardioLine +

To provide complex and complete cardiological examinations the scanner contains a number of important options and technologies. A complete cardiac software package Multi-echo T2 is one of them. The updated T2 mapping with mEcho FFE2D sequence makes it possible to quantify and analyze the myocardial iron overload. Using T1 mapping, one can get a much more quantitative characterization of myocardial tissue. T1 mapping uses the MOLLI sequence, creating a map in a single breath-hold. The scanner is equipped with intelligent technology Easy Tech-Fast, which includes SUREVOI™ Cardiac and CardioLine+. The program automatically identifies 14 cardiac planes in a single breath-hold scan.

In addition to high-quality cardiac examinations, a wide range of other clinical examinations can be performed on the Vantage Titan / Zen Edition scanner. Due to the Ultrashort Echo Time (UTE) option, which can capture images in tissues that generally disappear too quickly for MR imaging, it becomes possible to assess the anatomical structures much better, especially the musculoskeletal system and lungs.

Non-contrast MRA technologies

A need for new, alternative methods of non-contrast MRA imaging has appeared because of frequent complications among patients after contrast examinations based on gadolinium. Toshiba introduces four unique ways of non-contrast MRA examinations in its new scanner. Due to these technologies, the risk of complications among patients is minimized, and the quality of the obtained images is even better than of those obtained with contrast technology.

The Easy Tech program  facilitates excellent workflow, automatically improving positioning and aligning slices for more complex exams to be carried out. An intuitive user interface M-Power enables the work with a large stream of people and subsequent image processing.

Toshiba Medical

"Patients are of paramount importance for Toshiba Medical company, therefore it develops state-of-the-art technologies which ensure quiet, comfortable and quick examinations", said Dominic Smith, the senior director of CT, PET / CT and MR business at Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.
