TIALINX RELEASES NON-CONTACT RADIATION-FREE BREAST SCANNER

TiaLinx is releasing a new device that can be used in breast screening that doesn’t use ionizing radiation and is contact-free. Does this sound like science fiction? Well, the future is here, because the developers have taken advantage of the phenomenon of healthy and abnormal cells having varying electrical properties.

The portable, laptop sized AR60-A scanner uses non-ionizing electromagnetic waves with patented planar antenna arrays for detection, allowing excellent lateral resolution and enhancing the viewing capabilities of even small-cell clusters. The 60GHz scanning technology provides the user with clear, high resolution images highlighting abnormal cells on the screen against a blue background. Although standard mammography is still the “gold standard” for breast cancer screening, new technologies that do not use harmful X-rays can potentially be used instead.

"The demand for the development of an affordable device for early-stage breast cancer detection by over 210,000 primary care physicians in the United States, and significantly more internationally, has been a key driver behind the introduction of the AR-60A," commented Dr. Fred Mohamadi, Founder and President of TiaLinx.
