RADICULAR CYST FROM TOOTH 85

The parents of an 8 year old girl sought help at a dental surgery clinic. Their daughter had complaints of swelling and enlargement of the mandible on the right side near the transitional fold in the location of tooth 85, and also discomfort in the area of tooth 46.

An X-ray (orthopantomogram) was proposed for diagnosis. X-ray examination showed a round-shaped defect with clear boundaries in the projection of tooth 85. The mucous membrane in this area was unchanged. X-ray also showed that the tooth bud of tooth 45 is shifted on the vertical axis, putting pressure on the emerging root tip of tooth 46, causing discomfort to the patient. For treatment, removal of tooth 85 and cyst removal were proposed.

Based on the diagnostics the patient was diagnosed with: Radicular cyst from tooth 85.
